We believe preventative medicine is an important aspect of primary care. We will provide care for your newborn infant when born at Delnor-Community Hospital. Please have your obstetrician notify us at the time of delivery or Cesarean birth. We also recommend evaluation of infants at two weeks of age.
Routine well child examinations are recommended at 2, 4, 6, 9.. 12, 15 and 18 months of age. Children are routinely examined at 2, 3 and 4 years of age. Most immunizations and lead level screening can be done during these visits.
Physicals are required for school age children before entrance to kindergarten, 5th and 9th grades. Physicals are also required yearly for. 6th thru 12th grade sport participation. For adults we recommend an initial complete medical history and physical examination to establish a medical data base. We recommend screening for specific age related illnesses and risk factors such as those suggested by the American Heart Association. At a minimum we recommend an examination every 3 years until the age of 45 and yearly thereafter. We would be happy to set up a health maintenance program specifically for your needs. Our office is equipped to perform EKG's, hearing and vision screenings, minor surgical procedures, Pap tests, urinalysis and complete blood drawing services. We have all of the recommended immunizations needed for children and adults.
We also perform pre-employment and DOT physicals. Dr. Scurlock can perform FAA physicals for class I, 2 and 3 pilots.
