Zostavax (prevention of shingles) is recommended for patients over the age of 60.

Zostavax is covered by 2 of the Medicare Part D plans. Medicare Part B DOES NOT reimburse for Zostavax.

As we do not bill Medicare Part D, patients are asked to pay for their vaccine and receive a receipt to submit for reimbursement.

We encourage all patients to contact Medicare Part D or other insurance carrier to inquire about their benefits prior to the injection.

There are many Medicare Part D plans and each plan benefits are different.
